Nintendo Announces Official Wii Price Cut – Nintendo – Kotaku.

Nintendo have just announced a price cut for the Wii in both the US and Japan, putting an end to weeks of speculation.

In the US, the cut will take effect on September 27, and as expected will see the console go from $250 to $200.

In Japan, the reduction will kick in on October 1, and see the console dropping from 25,000 (USD$273) to 20,000 (USD$218).

This marks the first time Nintendo have officially reduced the price of the console in any market since the console’s launch in 2006. That’s an impressive run.

Nintendo Wii Internet Channel Now Free | Geeky Gadgets.

If you own a Nintendo Wii, then you will probably have purchased the Internet Channel, which allows you to surf the net on your Nintendo Wii.

Previously if you wanted to add the channel to your Wii it cost you 500 Wii points, the good news is that Nintendo has now decided to give the channel away free to everyone.

On October 4, You Can Lose $20 and a Few Pounds on the Wii Fit Plus – Wii Fit Plus – Gizmodo.

The Wii Fit Plus will introduce 15 new mini-games and come as either a standalone disc for $19.99, or as part of a bundle with the original Wii Fit and Balance Board for $99.99. It also looks like Nintendo will be releasing black editions of the Wii remote, nunchuk and MotionPlus, so those concerned about matching their toys to their furniture will finally breathe a sigh of relief.
